Inter-Domain Call

Purpose

Inter-domain calls establish calls between different domains on the same system. The call stays in the original domain, but will call accounts in a different domain.

For example, this makes it possible to share a central attendant between domains.

Settings

The destination domain has two settings “From header when switching the domain” and “To header when switching the domain”. These parameters are used to set the From and the To header of the call to the extension in the other domain. The setting contains the text that will displayed; it may use several dollar-escaped characters:

  • ‘d’ will insert the domain name of the calling (source) domain
  • ‘e’ will insert the domain name of the called (destination) domain
  • ‘n’ will insert the original content of the header
  • ‘x’ will insert the parameter 1 of the called extension
  • ‘y’ will insert the parameter 2 of the called extension
  • ‘z’ will insert the parameter 3 of the called extension

For example, the string “$d: $n” will produce an output like “Company A: John Smith” if the source domain name was set to “Company A” and the original content of the header was “John Smith”.

If the setting is empty, the PBX will not change the header.
