The PBX generally works with any SIP-compatible device. The purpose of the list on this page is to give tips on how to use the devices. Some phones support features that go beyond the pure dial tone, and the PBX supports plug and play installation for some devices.

The PBX usually also has no problems talking to different PSTN gateways that support SIP. Because the PBX requires only very few features from the PSTN gateway, interoperability should be even easier than the interoperability with the phones.

Most service providers support SIP devices. Some of them have a limited list of supported devices to make the support as efficient as possible, but most of them are able to allow a registration of a SIP user agent that looks like a soft phone. The PBX supports that mode. Some service providers specifically address the needs of a office, for example by allowing different DID numbers and by presenting a specific caller-ID for outbound calls.
