Leaving Prerecorded Messages

Idea
When you are making sales calls, you often just hit the prospects mailbox. Especially when calling the first time, the only thing that you can do is leaving a voicemail message that states who you are and what you would like to talk about. Instead of saying this over and over again, you can record a few messages in advance and then just hit a button to leave that message and get off the line.
In order to make this a useful application you will probably leave a “natural” voice mail message. Minor mistakes and glitches make the recording just more authentic.
How to get that working
In order to make the PBX play out that message, you should use a IVR Node that no other job than playing that message back and then hang up. That means you would use the expression "!E!-!" to make the PBX disconnect the call after reading out the message.
In order to record the message, use the record star code (*98) concatenated with the IVR node account (e.g. *9878 if the IVR node is account 78).
When you hit the mailbox, just blind transfer the call into the IVR node. You can do this explicitly on your phone using the blind transfer feature, or you can use the transfer star code of the PBX (see Parking, Pickup and Transfer). Ideally, you can program your phone to redirect the call to a preprogrammed destination, so that you just have to push one button.
Example setup
snom phones
In the snom phones, you can use the "Park Orbit" to blind transfer the active call to the provided destination. Make sure that you select the right identity and put the ivr node into the "Number" field. See the example below.
The phone will show for some time "parking call" - and eventuall this message will disappear. Because we are not really parking the call, you can ignore this message.
